Under the title "THIRD SEASON" Acosta Danza, company directed by Carlos Acosta, will present a new choreographic program on March 2, 3, 4 and 5, in the García Lorca hall of the Gran Teatro de La Habana Alicia Alonso.
Addressing fundamental themes for these times and opening space for young choreographers, the new functions will appeal to three world premieres. Ely Regina Hernández will present Avium, choreography with music by Camille Saint-Saëns and José Víctor Gavilondo, in which the myth of male and female birds is used to talk about the cycle of life and solidarity. Of the young dancers Beatriz García and Raúl Reinoso is the duet Nós, with music by José Víctor Gavilondo, a work that approaches the intimate world of the couple with their zones of light and shadows. In another aspect, Twelve, by the Spanish choreographer Jorge Crecis, can be seen, a dance exercise that, on the music of Vicenzo Lamagna, demands to the dancers a maximum physical and mental disposition, with sports and mathematical elements.
The program of the season also presents three replenishments: Around there is nothing, of Goyo Montero on poems of Joaquin Sabina and Vinicius de Moraes; End of Time, Ben Stevenson's neoclassical choreography with music by Serguei Rachmaninoff, and Babbel 2.0, choreography by María Rovira and original score by Salvador Niebla.
The company Acosta Danza made its premiere in April 2016 and is a commitment of its creator to offer integrating shows from the contemporary and the neoclassical, without discarding other expressions, times and styles of dancer art.
