Acosta Danza, a company run by Carlos Acosta, will present its Spring Season on April 21, 22 and 23 at the Gran Teatro de La Habana Alicia Alonso.
Being faithful to the desire to bring to the public diverse styles of dance in a single show, the new delivery of Acosta Danza will be composed by different works of high artistic and technical rigor.
A special moment will be the premiere in Cuba of Belles Lettres, part of the American Justin Peck, resident choreographer of the New York City Ballet. From the music of the French composer César Franck, Belles Lettres evokes the lyrical universe of literature and the romantic echoes of one of the golden ages of art.
The audience attending the presentations will be able to enjoy besides the titles Of tip to end, of Alexis Fernández (Maca); Anadromous, by the young choreographer Raúl Reinoso, and Twelve by Jorge Crecis. This time will also be replaced The crossing on the Niagara, by Marianela Boán, renowned work of modern Cuban dance that celebrates this year the 30th anniversary of its premiere.
With the Spring Season, Acosta Danza will celebrate the first anniversary of its stage debut and will join the celebration for the 180 years of the Gran Teatro de La Habana Alicia Alonso, the great temple of the performing arts in our country.
