Acosta Danza, company directed by the first dancer Carlos Acosta, will present its new season "Rituals" on February 15, 16 and 17, in the Sala García Lorca of the Gran Teatro de La Habana Alicia Alonso. The program will present the world premiere of Cor, the work of choreographer Marianela Boán, an important name of contemporary dance in our country, with original music by Pepe Gavilondo. The piece Portal, by the Spanish Juanjo Arqués , uses music from the Cuban-Iranian group Ariwo, and will also be premiered worldwide featuring an interesting stage proposal.
The public will also be able to see the first presentation in Cuba of Soledad, duet of the Spanish Rafael Bonachela and the replenishment of Paysage, soudain, the nuit of the Swedish Pontus Lidberg, inspired by the universe of Cuban rumba and with music by Maestro Leo Brouwer. Tickets for the Season "Rituals" will be for sale from Tuesday, February 12, at the box office of the Gran Teatro de La Habana Alicia Alonso. Since its stage debut, Acosta Danza has the objective of performing dance performances in full accordance with the most current notions that are developed in the world, not only in the matter of the movement of bodies but in everything related to the scene. The company is defined as a space for renewal, search and experimentation, not only for Cuban artists, but also opens doors to the creators of the world, choreographers, musicians, designers, artists of visual arts and audiovisuals. Its choreographic repertoire includes titles of Carlos Acosta, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Justin Peck, Maria Rovira, Marianela Boan, Goyo Montero, Saburo Teshigawara, Pontus Lidberg, Christopher Bruce, Jorge Crecis, among others.
