The Acosta Danza company, directed by the first dancer Carlos Acosta, will begin this February 9 a cycle of presentations in the United Kingdom with the show "100% Cuban", which exhibits choreographies inspired by the culture of the Caribbean island. These performances have been programmed by the Dance Consortium, an association of 20 major theaters that seeks to bring the most relevant international choreographic art to the European country.
The first of the venues will be the Sadler's Wells Theater in London, on the 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th of this month. The Cubans will also perform at the Royal Concert Hall in Nottingham (February 15 and 16), the Lowry in Manchester (22 and 23), the New Theater in Hull (25 and 26), the Marlowe Theater in Canterbury (March 1 and 2). and the Theater Royal in Plymouth (4 and 5).
The public that attends the shows will be able to enjoy the two recent premieres of the Cuban company: "Liberto", by Raúl Reinoso and "Híbrido", by the young choreographer Norge Cedeño. The program also presents the works "Paysage, soudain, la nuit", by the Swedish Pontus Lidberg; "Impronta", created by the Catalan María Rovira and "De punta a cabo", a piece based on the original by the Cuban Alexis Fernández (Maca).
After these presentations in the United Kingdom, the company will travel to France to present eight performances of the same program at the Chaillot Theater in Paris, during March.
