Acosta Danza, with the general direction of the first dancer Carlos Acosta, will present the show "Raíces" at the Teatro Martí, on January 14 and 15.
This new season will be made up of choreographies that represent the historical evolution of the company.
Each day's program will begin with Portal by the Spanish Juanjo Arqués y Fauno, by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, this last piece inspired by a classic in ballet history.
The show will continue with Performance, the most recent premiere of the company, the creation of the American choreographer Micaela Taylor in which contemporary dance is mixed with elements of hip hop. The duo Nosotros, by the creators Beatriz García and Raúl Reinoso, will talk about the lights and shadows of a love relationship.
Each show will close with the choreography Around There Is Nothing, by the Spanish Goyo Montero, the first work that Acosta Danza danced in his debut, seven years ago. This creation has in its soundtrack poems by Joaquín Sabina and Vinicius de Moraes, in the voices of their authors.
The hours of the performances of "Raíces" will be at 7:00 pm, on Saturday, January 14, and at 5:00 pm on Sunday, January 15. Tickets will be on sale at the Martí Theater box office from Tuesday, January 10, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., except on performance days when tickets will be sold two hours before the start of the show.
