Brandy

He was born in the province of Santiago de Cuba. In 2012 Brandy began studying ballet at the "José María Heredia y Heredia" Vocational Art School, in her hometown. During that period, he won prizes in the choreographic competitions organized at the school, with works such as Los cuatro elementos. She participated in the International Meeting of Academies and its contest with the choreography Amanecer en primavera. In 2017 he began to study the secondary level at the Acosta Danza Academy, integrating the first group of students of this educational center. During this time, he had the opportunity to interpret pieces such as Majísimo, Jorge García; Belles Lettres, by Justin Peck; Siervo, by Héctor Rodríguez; Orate, choreography created by him together with Amisaday Naara; the masculine variation of the pas de deux Harlequinade; Waiting to kill, by Aymara Vila; Tocororo Suite, Don Quixote Suite and Carmen, by Carlos Acosta. In April 2019, he participated in the public performance together with the Acosta Danza Company at the inauguration of the Calle Línea Cultural Corridor, as part of the XIII Biennial of Contemporary Arts of Havana. He graduated in 2022 and went on to join the cast of Acosta Danza. As part of it, the company has performed the pieces Around There is Nothing (Alrededor no hay nada), by Goyo Montero; Nosotros, by Beatriz García and Raúl Reinoso; Twelve, by Jorge Crecis; Satori, by Raúl Reinoso and Paysage, soudain, la nuit, by Pontus Lidberg; Hybrid, by Norge Cedeño and De punta a cabo, in a version based on the original by Alexis Fernández (Maca).
