Elizabeth

She was born in the province of Santiago de Cuba. In 2012 Elizabeth began her dance studies at the “José María Heredia y Heredia” Vocational Art School, in her hometown. That same year she was recognized for Best Female Performance in a choreographic contest held at her school. In 2017 she began to study the secondary level at the Acosta Danza Academy, integrating the first group of students of this educational center. During this time, she performed choreographies such as Belles Lettres, by Justin Peck; the feminine variation of the pas de deux Harlequinade; Majísimo, by Jorge García; Tocororo Suite, Don Quixote Suite and Carmen by Carlos Acosta. In April 2019, she participated in the public performance together with the Acosta Danza Company at the inauguration of the Línea Street Cultural Corridor, as part of the XIII Havana Contemporary Arts Biennial. She graduated in 2022 and went on to join the cast of Acosta Danza. As part of it, the company has performed the pieces Around There is Nothing (Alrededor no hay nada), by Goyo Montero; Twelve, by Jorge Crecis; Satori, by Raúl Reinoso and Paysage, soudain, la nuit, by Pontus Lidberg; Hybrid, by Norge Cedeño; De punta a cabo, in a version based on the original by Alexis Fernández (Maca).
