She was born in the province of Pinar del Río and began her ballet studies in 1986 at the “Raúl Sánchez” Vocational School of Art, in her city, with the teacher Mercedes Quintana and continued them at the National Ballet School from 1992, under the guidance of teachers such as Ramona de Saá, Mirtha Hermida, Adria Velázquez, Miriam González. She graduated in 1995 and began her career as a professional dancer with the National Ballet of Cuba, under the direction of Alicia Alonso. In this company she reached the rank of first soloist and performed in countries such as Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Spain, the United States of America, the United States of Mexico, France, the United Kingdom, Guatemala, Guyana , Greece, Italy, Nicaragua, Republic of Panama, Portugal, Switzerland, Tunisia, Venezuela and Uruguay. Her repertoire as a dancer includes soloist roles in the most important works of the great romantic-classical tradition of the 19th century such as Giselle, Don Quixote, Coppelia, Sleeping Beauty, Nutcracker, Swan Lake, as well as in creations by Cuban and foreign choreographers. In 2008 she was the guest artist at the Gala of the Patricia Goñi Ballet School, held in Montevideo, Uruguay, in which she served as a dancer and teacher. Simultaneously to her performance as an interpreter, she developed a pedagogical work as Maître and rehearser of the National Ballet of Cuba and in 2016 she reached the 1st Level as a Specialized Ballet Teacher. In that same year, she obtained the Gold Degree in Dance Art, Ballet Specialty, at the Faculty of Dance Art of the University of the Arts of Cuba, a center of higher studies where she has worked as a professor since 2013. In 2018 she worked as guest teacher at the Kansas City Classical Ballet School, in Kansas City, United States. In 2019 she was awarded the Distinction for National Culture, granted by the Cuban Ministry of Culture. In 2021 she began working as a ballet teacher at Acosta Danza, under the general direction of Carlos Acosta.
