Raúl Reinoso

Born in Pinar del Río, in 2002 he began his dance studies at the Art School "Raúl Sánchez García". In 2005 he went to study at the National School of Art. In the first year of his studies he created his first choreography Let it be me. He participated in several editions of the Dance Festival "Old Havana: City in Motion" organized by Isabel Bustos. In 2009 he joined the cast of Contemporary Dance of Cuba, directed by Miguel Iglesias. With that company he danced in Colombia, United Kingdom, Holland, Germany, Switzerland and Luxembourg, and its repertoire includes works as Sombrisa, Itzik Galili, Demo-N / Crazy by Rafael Bonachela; Carmina Burana, MeKniksmo, Mambo 3XXI, Identity- 1 and Matria Etnocentra by George Céspedes; Carmen by Kenneth Kvarntrom, Reversible by Annabelle Lopez Ochoa; Cristal, by Julio César Iglesias; Cuban tangos by Billy Cowie, and Compass by Jan Linkens, among others. Under the guidance of Cuban choreographer Jorge Abril, he played one of the lead roles in CC Canillitas, an anthological piece of the repertoire of Contemporary Dance of Cuba. Reinoso created for the National Ballet of Cuba the coreographies Safe (2014) and December (2015).

Since 2015 he is part of Acosta Danza. He has danced with this company El cruce sobre el Niágara and Cor, by Marianela Boán; Hokiri, by Mickael Marso Riviere; Rooster, by Christopher Bruce and Paysage, soudain, la nuit, by Pontus Lidberg. Carmen, Don Quixote (scenes) and Tocororo Suite, by Carlos Acosta; Mundo interpretado, by Juliano Nunes; Portal, by Juanjo Arqués; Hybrid, by Norge Cedeño; Performance, by Micaela Taylor;  Babbel 2.0 and El salto de Nijinsky, by María Rovira; Alrededor no hay nada, of Goyo Montero; Two Dyng Swan, recreation from the original by Michel Fokine; Majísimo, by Jorge García; Soledad, by Rafael Bonachela; De punta a cabo, by Alexis Fernández (Maca); Twelve, by Jorge Crecis and Avium, by Ely Regina Hernández. As a choreographer he created Anadromous, a piece that was part of the show “A Classical Farawell”, by Carlos Acosta, that was performed in United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and Hong Kong. With Beatriz García he created the dueto Nosotros, premiered by Acosta Danza. With this choreography he performed at the Fire Island Dance Festival 2017, in New York. In 2018 Raúl Reinoso premiered his choreography Satori. This piece won the Villanueva Award from the Association of Scenic Critics, as one of the best shows presented in Cuba in 2018. In 2022, he premiered the choreography Liberto, based on important works of Cuban literature. In 2022, Carlos Acosta included and performed the duo Nosotros, in his show "On Before".
